Description

The LordoLoc back brace gently relieves the lumbar spine and helps to reduce pain. Integrated stays combined with abdominal compression gently straighten and stabilize the back.

Benefits:

LordoLoc is suitable for use as a back brace for the stabilization of the lumbar spine, for example in the event of chronic lumbar vertebral syndrome. The stabilizing orthosis with four 91/4″ integral anatomically contoured flexible lightweight aluminium stays has a muscle-activating effect, relieves the spine and is very low-profile. The degree of stabilization can be adjusted to provide optimal individual support to the lower back.

Ideal For:

  • Lordosis
  • General pain in lumbar spine region
  • Degeneration and muscle weakness in the spine
  • Osteoporosis

Size Measurements

1. Gather Your Supplies

  • Measuring tape
  • A mirror (optional, but useful for checking measurements)
  • A friend or family member (optional, but can help with accuracy)

2. Measure Your Waist Circumference

  • Stand up straight and relax your abdomen.
  • Locate your natural waistline, which is typically just above your belly button and below your ribcage.
  • Wrap the measuring tape around your waist, making sure it is level and snug but not too tight.
  • Record the measurement in centimeters or inches.

3. Measure Your Hip Circumference

  • Stand up straight with your feet together.
  • Find the widest part of your hips.
  • Wrap the measuring tape around your hips, keeping it parallel to the floor.
  • Ensure the tape is snug but not compressing your skin.
  • Record the measurement in centimeters or inches.

4. Measure Your Torso Length

  • Start from the top of your hip bone, which is approximately where the back brace will sit.
  • Measure up to the lower part of your ribcage, or where you would like the brace to end.
  • Keep the tape straight and parallel to the floor.
  • Record this measurement in centimeters or inches.

5. Consult the Size Chart

  • Compare your measurements with the Bauerfeind LORDOLOC size chart below.
  • Match your waist and hip measurements to find your recommended size.
  • If your measurements fall between two sizes, consider the following:
    • For a tighter, more secure fit, choose the smaller size.
    • For a more comfortable, relaxed fit, opt for the larger size.

6. Check for Fit and Comfort

  • Once you receive your brace, try it on to ensure it fits comfortably and provides the necessary support.

Care Instructions

1. Cleaning:

  • Hand Wash Only: Gently hand wash the back brace in lukewarm water (max. 30°C / 86°F) with mild detergent.
  • Avoid Soaking: Do not soak the brace; instead, gently agitate the water to clean.
  • Rinse Thoroughly: Ensure all detergent is rinsed out thoroughly.

2. Drying:

  • Air Dry: Lay the brace flat on a clean, dry towel to air dry. Avoid wringing or twisting the brace.
  • Do Not Tumble Dry: Never use a tumble dryer or any form of direct heat (such as radiators or hair dryers) to dry the brace. This can damage the materials.

3. Storage:

  • Keep Dry: Store the brace in a cool, dry place. Avoid exposure to direct sunlight or excessive moisture.
  • Avoid Sharp Objects: Keep the brace away from sharp objects or surfaces that could damage the material.

4. Avoid:

  • Bleach and Fabric Softeners: Do not use bleach, fabric softeners, or other harsh chemicals as they can damage the fabric and reduce the brace’s effectiveness.
  • Ironing: Do not iron the brace. High temperatures can cause material deformation.

5. Inspection:

  • Regular Checks: Regularly inspect the brace for any signs of wear or damage. If you notice any issues, contact customer service for advice on repair or replacement.

6. Additional Tips:

  • Use a Liner: Consider using a sweat-absorbing liner between the brace and your skin to help keep the brace clean and reduce the need for frequent washing.
  • Avoid Excessive Moisture: Try to keep the brace dry during use to maintain its structural integrity.
